Artist's Comments

From a shoot with Samantha Gardiner - we really weren't sure what we were going for here, makeup wise, but after Mallory completed the red eye-mask, I thought Samantha was channelling a sort of female version of comic book hero Flash Gordon...

I hope one day I will be able to make something half as good as this! :D

Damn... just your socks? But, like really cool natural-fibre argyle ones, and not scuzzy old gym socks, right?
Honestly, it doesn't take that long at all. I've only been at this for about a year. Still got gobs to learn, of course, but the fun thing about being relatively new to photography is that you can see improvement in your work almost every shoot. The downside, of course, (if you're like me), then when you look at the stuff you did a few months back, you know that you can do it better now, and see all the things you did wrong. I'm like that with most of my stuff, for sure.
Well, same for me! Looking back for a few months and I see all my mistakes. Then I am angry that I missed one opportunity to make something really nice ...

Anyway, I just love your portraits. (I was always crap with portraits.... :( )
